Introduction to Blacksmithing – safety, best practices, hammer control, physics of moving metal plus making nails and hooks. Please take this class before attempting one of our more advanced classes. For any blacksmithing class please wear cotton or natural fabric clothing, long trousers and solid shoes or boots are required, long sleeve cotton (not flannel) shirt highly recommended. We supply your steel, coal, tools, working materials, gloves, eye and ear protection, plus dust masks when necessary but if you have a leather apron you might want to bring it.
