Free Financial Workshop Offered in Crestview
(CRESTVIEW, Fla.) October 16, 2013 – Do you avoid checking your bank account because of financial anxiety? Do you leave mail from creditors unopened because you can’t cope with their demands? Or do you just want some basic financial know-how? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then WAM! is for you.
The Day of WAM! (Women and Money) is a day filled with free financial education workshops, on Saturday, October 26. The classes will take place from 10am to 3pm at the First Baptist Church in Crestview located at 171 W Hickory Avenue. Lunch will be provided.
Topics covered at the workshop will include basic checking and savings, the importance of credit, how to pay yourself first, how to deal with creditors, types of loans, taxes and tax credit, identity theft, budgeting on a low income and retirement planning.
This free workshop is hosted by Shelter House and made possible through a grant from The Allstate Foundation. Shelter House offers free workshops throughout the year as part of its WAM! (Women and Money) program aimed at educating people to achieve economic empowerment through financial education and independence. Men are also welcome to attend the workshops.
