This is an advanced class! We will use a railroad spike for this project and you will accomplish a lot of hammer work and become familiar with drifting an eye through the steel so you will have a place to attach the handle. If time permits you can make the handle using our shaving horse. All materials provided. You need to do this because you never know when the Zombie Apocalypse might happen. Contact us if you need the Introduction to Blacksmithing class For any blacksmithing class please wear cotton or natural fabric clothing, long trousers and solid shoes or boots are required, long sleeve cotton (not flannel) shirt highly recommended. We supply your steel, coal, tools, working materials, gloves, eye and ear protection, plus dust masks when necessary but if you have a leather apron you might want to bring it.
