Presented by the Florida Folklife Program Co-Sponsored by the Baker Block Museum and the North Okaloosa Historical Association, Inc.
The Day-Long program consists of morning and afternoon sessions that will help attendees learn to identify community traditions in their region, and will feature demonstrations from:
- Local barber, fiddler, storyteller and folk artist Mack Brooks
- Pine needle basket maker Connie Palmer
- Beekeeper Laurence Cutts
- Bluegrass fiddler Samantha Purvines
State Folklorist Blaine Waide will give presentations about the folklife and folklore of the Florida Panhandle, the various techniques and methods used for documenting folklife, and ideas for identifying folk and traditional cultural resources in local communities.
