Covenant Hospice and Cox Partner for the 40thAnnual Cox Cablethon
Fort Walton Beach, Fla.– Tune in to Cox Channel 6 on Saturday, April 14 at 6 p.m. for the premiere of the 40thAnnual Cox Cablethon to benefit Covenant Hospice. This year marks the event’s 40thAnniversary, and to celebrate, the organizations are kicking off 40 days of event activities and a new format.
“Rather than just one day of the televised event, this year, Cablethon will have several components including a 40-day broadcast on Cox, 40 days of online auctions, a premiere party at Helen Back and a prize drawing for a Caribbean cruise for two,” said Jenni Perkins, Development Manager for Covenant Hospice. “No matter what area you live in, or what your interests may be, this event has something for everyone. With auction packages featuring jewelry, vacation getaways, artwork, dining and shopping, all available online for the first time in the history of this event, Covenant Hospice supporters anywhere can score a great deal and further the mission of our organization just by placing their bids.”
Four separate auctions, each lasting 10 days, will open for bidding starting April 14 at www.eventsatcovenant.org/cablethon.
The television program, which airs in Cox’s Okaloosa and Walton viewing areas on channel 6, as well as the Escambia viewing area on channel 2, will be hosted by Sue Straughn from WEAR TV-3 and “Diamond” Dan from Cumulus station 105.5 The Wolf. The segment will air numerous times over the course of 40 days.
Helen Back will host a Cox Cablethon Premiere Party at their Okaloosa Island location on Saturday, April 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and the public is invited to attend. The party will feature a prize drawing for a Caribbean cruise for two, donated by Grand Crowne Resorts of Branson, MO. Prize draw tickets are on sale now for a suggested donation of $10 each or three for $25.
