About Us

The University of West Florida is a public university based in Northwest Florida and a strong virtual presence. UWF's mission is to provide students with access to high-quality, relevant, and affordable undergraduate and graduate learning experiences; to transmit, apply, and discover knowledge through teaching, scholarship, research, and public service; and to engage in community partnerships that respond to mutual concerns and opportunities and that advance the economy and quality of life in the region.

UWF Emerald Coast is located in Fort Walton Beach and offers eleven (11) degree programs that can be completed here. We are dedicated to both traditional and non-traditional students, and extend a warm welcome to the members of the military and their families who are interested in pursuing their educational goals.

UWF Emerald Coast partners with Northwest Florida State College to provide students a seamless transition from a state college to university life, as well as the opportunity to earn both associate's and bachelor's degrees in the most effective way. Visit uwf.edu/2uwf to learn more.

The Military and Veterans Resource Center on the UWF Emerald Coast Campus serves as an advocate for military and veteran students, working to ensure the needs of these individuals are met through coordinating with multiple university offices and services including assistance with admissions, registration, and general advising.
