Job Description
Network Administrator – Information Systems

Position Purpose

  • Ensures the organization’s networking needs are met, including maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting
  • Assists the Information Systems Director with strategic planning for the IS Department
  • Identifies needs, evaluates systems, implements solutions, troubleshoots, and integrates products
  • Provides IS support across all organizational levels
  • Maintains documentation for:
    • Hardware inventory
    • Software licenses
    • Repairs
  • Develops and manages system maintenance and replacement plans, including budgeting
  • Identifies organizational needs aligned with the hospital strategic plan
  • Participates in system improvements for information management processes
  • Works as a team member in implementing improvements

Position Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science preferred
Experience / Skills
  • Minimum 3 years experience with:
    • PC and network application software
    • Operating systems
    • Communication concepts and equipment
    • Desktop and Server Support
  • Required:
    • Active Directory security knowledge
    • Ghost imaging
  • Preferred:
    • AS400 IBM System experience
    • Healthcare environment experience
Licenses / Certifications
  • A+ and Network+ certifications preferred
  • Must pass DMV check and provide:
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Current automobile insurance card

General Duties (Responsibilities)
  • Serves as System Security Officer ensuring appropriate user access
  • Complies with CHS Corporate IS Security policies
  • Collaborates with departments and project teams on system improvements
  • Establishes objectives and participates as a management team member
  • Controls departmental and supply costs
  • Identifies and completes training for self-development
  • Maintains documentation for hardware cabling and ensures cabling standards
  • Performs routine maintenance and upgrades on PCs and servers
  • Provides end-user support; researches and resolves technical problems
  • Responds to calls, emails, and service requests for technical support
  • Tracks and monitors technical issues to ensure timely resolution
  • Completes PC and server installations
  • Attends IS teleconferences and training calls
  • Handles special projects as assigned
  • Completes other duties as assigned
