As a Senior Network Engineer, you would develop or recommend network security measures and audits, design and implement operational management for network security, develop physical network designs and keep them up to date, and maintain integration between mission-critical software applications.  The Senior Network Engineer also supports the IT Manager by overseeing projects and guiding team members.
 
CHELCO, a progressive member-owned electric utility in DeFuniak Springs, seeks a Senior IT Network Engineer to join their energized four-person IT department and desires to harness the power of a team of five.  CHELCO is a 57,000-meter co-op primarily serving two counties from Alabama to the Emerald Coast beaches on the Gulf of Mexico in the panhandle of Florida. The area offers outstanding recreational, cultural and educational opportunities.
 
The following qualifications and skills are required: High school diploma and at least twelve years of related experience with at least five years of network engineering experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT Project Management and at least five years of related experience. Must have a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. CompTIA A+, Network +, Project +, and Security + Cisco CCNE, CISSP certifications desired. 
 
The desired candidate will have the following qualifications/skills:
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with databases, web servers, and cloud computing.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and Cisco equipment
  • Strength in analyzing and problem resolution.
  • Knowledge of new technology trends with an emphasis on the electric utility industry.
  • Knowledge of best practices related to computer security.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion with confidential information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to manage personnel resources and lead project teams.
  • The ability to harness the power of technology a plus
 
The normal workweek is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the CHELCO Headquarters building in DeFuniak Springs. With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance at a designated worksite location is considered essential.
