Covenant Hospice will present their signature event\, the 7th Annual Blue Jean Ball on Saturday\, Oct. 5\, 2013 at the Crestview Community Center. Event organizers say the venue will be transformed into a glitzy Las Vegas casino complete with a variety of games including poker\, blackjack\, craps and roulette. Event attendees are encouraged to dress in their favorite denim attire or in casino-inspired outfits and costumes. Tickets are on sale now for $60 a person and are available at the Covenant Hospice branch office in Crestview\, 370 W. Redstone Ave.\, or online at www.eventsatcovenant.org/bluejeanball.\n\n\n\nThe 2013 event theme is Casino Royale\, and the evening will feature a gourmet dinner\, dessert buffet\, and adult beverages courtesy of The Lewis Bear Company and Chautauqua Winery. A silent auction will be available\, with gift certificates\, artwork\, vacation getaways\, jewelry and more up for bidding. For the first time since the event's inception\, a live auction will also be held\, with a week-long Las Vegas getaway as the featured item.\n\n\n\nIn addition\, Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Crestview will sponsor a special competition of "Dancing with the Crestview Stars" which will feature local "celebrities" Steve Tuttle (Special Forces Association)\, Dr. James Stevens (21st Century Oncology)\, Laura Chamberlain (Community Volunteer) and Bonnie Grundel (North Okaloosa Medical Center).\n\n\n\nCorporate sponsorships are available and range from $100 to $2\,500. All proceeds benefit Covenant Hospice's special programs in North Okaloosa and North Walton counties. These programs include bereavement services\, children's support programs\, chaplain services and indigent patient care. Covenant Hospice accepts patients regardless of ability to pay.
